How to Differentiate Between Stress and Anxiety

While differentiating between stress and anxiety, you might find yourself a bit stressed. This is because stress and anxiety might seem to be sisters whose effects might not always be very different. Firstly, anxiety is not considered as serious as stress. This is the case because when a person tells you they are anxious, you are not going to react in an alarmed manner because you know that anxiety is 'normal' and even more common in society. Many causes of anxiety might be viewed as unnecessary. This is to mean that we do not always understand why people are anxious over things that might seem minor to others.

Therefore, anxiety has been often defined as an unnecessary fear. Many times, it is not considered very serious although the anxious person does not view it this way. An example of anxiety is a phobia and there are all kinds of phobias that you can think of. Phobias are simply fears that are not as realistic as we would want them to be. People fear all kinds of things from animals to objects and people. The topic on this kind of anxiety can never end. In a bid to understand people who have serious fears for sometimes minor things, you will get to know that it is a real fear which might have been created or formed in their minds against a certain backdrop of prejudice or perception.

When you are getting ready for a job interview, you will often have impulses of anxiety. When we seek to understand why the anxiety is present, we find out that you are so concerned about not failing that you start to charge your system with possibilities of failure. Many people often picture the worse case scenario which is in actual fact their fear. There are ways in which we can deal with anxiety but, we cannot eradicate it. The first thing that is helpful is to recognize that anxiety can contribute to your failure and instead of concentrating on your fear, think of what you can do to impress. When you focus on this you are bound to go through the process with ease.

When it comes to stress, we Probably know how it can be because we go through it all the time. Stress is as a result of a pressure or a stressor which has to do with real life issues. Stress unlike anxiety is a serious disease which can cause harm to our lives and even result in death. Referred to as a 'silent killer', stress is very real and it can be caused by internal factors or external factors. Stress is controlled by the most vital organ in the body which is the brain. This is the only organ that holds the key and decides what the outcome of stress is going to be. Just like the way the brain is individual to everyone, the reactions of stress are also very personal and unique to everyone. There are models that will help you understand stress more and the internet will provide these resources and more for you.
